A Huit Clos, Kery James' show at the Théâtre du Rond-Point

You read that right: French rapper Kery James is back in the spotlight with a new show at the Théâtre du Rond-Point. The man behind his breakthrough album Si c'était à refaire, as well as the hit album À l'ombre du show-business - including a track in collaboration with Charles Aznavour - is also known for his theatrical performances. BetweenNovember 15 and December 3, 2023, he will be appearing inÀ huisclos.

Kery James is now famous for his committed lyrics and his support for numerous associations fighting against inequality. The humanist and poetic rapper shares movingly beautiful lyrics that are right on target in terms of their writing power. Following his success with À vif in 2017, he returns to the Théâtre du Rond-Point with a brand new show, directed by Marc Lainé.

Once again embodying his Soulaymaan character, Kery James takes on the role of a young lawyer who chooses to take justice into his own hands after the murder of his older brother. At the time of the trial of those responsible, the character witnesses their acquittal, leading to a loss of confidence in French institutions. Evoking injustice, forgiveness and democracy with fervor, the rapper and actor offers politically fascinating theater. À huis clos is also co-produced by the Théâtre national de la Danse - Chaillot and supported by the Théâtre du Rond-Point.
