The Iron Mask and the Musketeer: delving into one of history's greatest mysteries

Until April 6, 2025, Théâtre Guichet Montparnasse is hosting "Le Masque de Fer et le Mousquetaire, ou le secret de Saint-Mars", a one-man show by Donat Guibert that revisits one of the greatest mysteries in French history.

The plot of Le Masque de Fer et le Mousquetaire, ou le secret de Saint-Mars takes us to Paris in 1708, where Monsieur de Saint-Mars, jailer of the Bastille and former musketeer, is interrogated by Linget, a journalist eager for the truth. Through this exchange, the audience discovers the eventful life of Saint-Mars, but above all a revelation about the identity of the enigmatic prisoner in the Iron Mask, a figure who has fascinated historians and novelists for over three centuries.
