The Glitter of Their Lives, also titled The Peace Is Moving, is on at La Scala Paris until December 23, 2026. In this solo show, Mickaël Délis draws on his experience as a sperm donor to question fatherhood: what do we pass on to children we don’t want to raise ourselves?
The project grew out of conversations with friends who want to become mothers. The author decides to donate his sperm, and is then asked to draft a letter to the children who might be born from this donation. The undertaking brings him back to his own family story, to an absent father and his disappearance a few months earlier.
This autobiographical tale closes the Trilogy of the Third Kind, following The First Sex and The Underpants Party. Through multiple characters, the show examines intergenerational ties, the longing for a child, and family models. Mickaël Délis wrote and performs it.
Presented at the Piccola Scala, the show runs 1 hour and 15 minutes. The remaining performances are at 9:15 PM on Wednesdays, with an extra Thursday, November 19, in place of Wednesday, November 18, and a break on December 16. Le Premier Sexe also returns to the venue for several dates between October 31 and December 6.
