The Palais Galliera is known to Parisians as the museum of fashion. And now a monument to French chanson has been added to its 200,000-strong collection: some of Etienne Daho's stage and street outfits have been entrusted to this Parisian cultural institution.

The Palais Galliera is probably one of the capital's most beautiful museums, and for a long time, we regretted that it was too inaccessible to us. Until now, it only opened its doors for temporary exhibitions, including a moving tribute to Dalida and, more recently, the fascinating retrospective on Gabrielle Chanel. This cultural venue has undergone renovation and expansion to open its permanent collections to Parisians of all ages.

While the doors of the fashion museum remain closed, much to the dismay of visitors, inside the Palais, things are in full swing. And with good reason: new iconic pieces have just been added to the Palais Galliera's gargantuan collection, which already comprises over 200,000 works. This time, it's singerEtienne Daho' s turn. 34 stage and street outfits by this icon of French chanson were donated to the museum by his friend, singer Elli Medeiros.

"Stage outfits are companions on the road and armor into which we slip to become the Other. They are charged with all energies and emotions. Stage fright, impatience to get on stage, the joys of sharing and the incomparable Great Love. The one we receive and the one we give " - Etienne Daho

The singer himself decided to accompany this donation with other pieces from his wardrobe. These include creations by a number of emblematic fashion houses, including Agnès B, Paul Smith, Saint Laurent, Dior Homme and Céline, the famous Saint James marinière, and 6 stage outfits by designer Hedi Slimane, with whom he has a close working relationship.

We can't wait to discover them, can you?
