At the end of January, the Angoulême International Comics Festival takes place, one of the most eagerly awaited events in the literary world. For the occasion, some thirty French stations, including the six in Paris and the one at Versailles-Chantiers, are setting up ephemeral, never-before-seenexhibitions in their corridors, celebrating this year's great literary and graphic successes. Among them are many mangas, which accounted for one in four books sold last year. It's also worth noting that one out of every two comics sold is a manga!
Until the end of January 2024, Gare Montparnasse will be home to Naoya Matsumoto's KAIJU N°8 on platform 24, while Gare de Lyon will be decked out on one of the outside palisades with the manga Mashle by Hajime Komoto. Beyond this literary genre, you can discover exclusive XXL images of the title"Le nom de la rose" by Milo Manara (Glénat) in Paris Austerlitz, as well as the comic series"Bergères guerrières" in Paris Bercy or"L'arabe du futur " by Riad Sattouf, in the underground passageway of Paris Saint-Lazare station.
Children won't be left out, either, with exhibitions designed just for them, such as a tour of the illustrated series"Mémoires de la forêt", at Paris Saint-Lazare, in partnership with L'École des Loisirs. With the Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesjust a few months away, two exhibitions combining art and sport are taking up residence in Paris stations. Lorenzo Mattotti's images bring the colors of the race to the walls of Paris Gare du Nord and Paris Bercy, while Gare Montparnasse focuses on the starting lines!
