This groundbreaking exhibition, which brings them together for the first time, highlights their shared love of draping for one and cutting for the other. Long, flowing, pleated dresses, these masterpieces embody the essence of their art. Grès dresses, established as total art in the 1930s, merge with Alaïa's unparalleled creativity.
Masters of their craft, they stubbornly followed their path. Alaïa, the last couturier to master all stages of design and production, was also a great collector. Among his treasures are 700 Madame Grès dresses in the inventory of his foundation, some of which are presented for the first time in this exhibition.
