You may be familiar with theKorean artist Kim Jung-Gi: this talented draughtsman, who had a particular attachment to France, was best known for his artistic performances, during which he created frescoes live and in public, without prior sketching.

Kim Jung-Gi is honored at the Korean Cultural Center, which honors the artist who passed away in October 2022. A tribute exhibition will run from November 16, 2023 to March 16, 2024. This stunning, free retrospective, entitled Lignes infinies, au fil de l'art de Kim Jung Gi, showcases various works by the artist, from his drawings to his unexpected collaborations.

Black-and-white drawings, a few touches of color to illuminate a character, and thousands of details that brought each scene to life: Kim Jung-Gi knew how to capture our gaze and carry us away in his playful universe, packed with poetry and magic. The exhibition also immerses us in this very special world, featuring a wide range of works. We discover, of course, sketches, drawings and comic book inserts from his early days to the end of his career. But that's not all!

The Korean Cultural Center also honors the artist's international renown, presenting his collaborations with Adidas, the Gwanjuyo Ceramic Association... Or even the Parc des Princes. Indeed, Kim Jung-Gi was able to work with the PSG in a live artistic performance.

The exhibition also has a few surprises in store... A 10-metre-long fresco. This is the artist's most monumental work, in which the various drawn elements blend together to create a "Connected World". We also enjoy a moment of meditation at the heart of the artist's work: a musical space invites us to immerse ourselves in the artist's creations. Each percussion, each traditional Korean sound allows us to follow a line, a character... Music and drawing combine to give a deeper dimension to these paintings.

Finally, if you can, don't miss the first days of the exhibition: on November 15 and 16, 2023, Kim Dong-ho, one of Kim Jung-Gi's students, pays homage to his master by creating, as he did, a drawing show for visitors to the Centre Culturel.

A free retrospective not to be missed!
