On Saturday, April 26, 2025, La Fête de la librairie will be celebrating literature with an exceptional and unique book. In partnership with Editions Gallimard, five beautiful books have been brought together in a single volume,"Esprit es-tu là?", printed in a limited edition of 26,000 copies, and offered free of charge to customers of independent bookshops across France taking part in the event.
Nearly 700 bookstores across the country are hoping to pass on the history and culture of the book through the publication of a particular work, in collaboration with all the links in the publishing chain. This edition aims to unravel the mystery of the indecipherable destiny of works tracing their way through a week or centuries. To this end, Gabriel Dufay has designed an anthology focusing on the ghosts in the poetic work of Robert Desnos, whileAntoine Ginésy has surveyed Paris to note the commemorative plaques where the writers lived.
Claire Morel has noted that mysterious ghostly presence that we don't always pay attention to in books: those of writers' dedications, Daniel Sangsue evokes his history of ghosts in 19th-century literature, and Vahram Muratyan invites us on a night journey into the immensity of bookshop skies to make dancing constellations of writers sparkle.
A lovely moment to share with booksellers and an ideal book for literature lovers and collectors!
