In Jouy-en-Josas, the Ferme de Viltain picking area is currently the scene of a convivial event: the Fête de la Brouette. Prolong the summer atmosphere until Friday August 25, 2023 in these Yvelines fields. Activities, games and fresh produce picking are all on the program.

The Wheelbarrow Festival at Viltain Farm is an opportunity to enjoy original games while rediscovering the pleasures of picking. From August 22 to Friday, August 25, 2023, wheelbarrows come to life and become the unexpected stars of this event.

Activities and entertainment include

  • Wheelbarrow permit: For children aged 4 and over, a tricky course awaits these little pickers. There are three vegetables in the wheelbarrow, and only one rule: they mustn't fall out! For the most skilful, a wheelbarrow permit as a reward.
  • Estimating the weight of a wheelbarrow: Here, everyone's invited to take part. Estimate the weight of a loaded wheelbarrow and try to win:
    • 1st prize: 20 kg of tomatoes to choose from.
    • 2nd prize: a bouquet of flowers worth 20 euros.
    • 3rd prize: 15 kg of Delcorf and Akane apples.
    • 4th prize: 10 kg of tomatoes to pick.
    • 5th prize: 5 kg of tomatoes to choose from.
  • Box to touch: Three mysterious boxes await children. Their mission? Guess the produce hidden inside. As a reward, red, yellow or black cherry tomatoes are offered.

Beyond the games, the 50-hectare Ferme de Viltain is an invitation to wander. Tomatoes, the star of the pickings, take pride of place in the baskets. They are available in 15 varieties, including the heart of beef tomato, one of which weighs almost a kilo!

As well as tomatoes, it's also time to pick cucumbers , eggplants, peppers and much more. And for those who prefer effortless enjoyment, produce is also available for direct sale.
