Forêt en scène, free events at the Académie du Climat for Forest Day 2025

As part of the International Day of Forests initiated by the ONF, the Académie du Climat in Paris is hosting Forêt en scène, a free event offering a wide range of activities for all ages, from March 21 to 23, 2025. Workshops, conferences and immersive experiences are on the program to explore the forest in all its forms.

To mark International Forest Day, the Académie du Climat is opening its doors for a series of fun and educational events designed to raise awareness among young and old alike of the crucial role forests play in our environment. The first few days, reserved for school activities, precede a weekend open to all, offering a rich program of participatory workshops.

Conferences and round tables

  • What are the benefits of urban forests? Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 pm Deciphering micro-forests and urban forests with ecology and landscape specialists.

  • Winning services for forests in the face of global warming : Friday, March 21 at 6:30pm Discussion on the ecological services provided by forests and their impact on the climate.

  • How do I #jagispourlaforêt et le climat? Friday, March 21 at 7:30pm An inspiring conference to turn our ecological concerns into concrete action.

  • Representing the forest: what an art! Saturday, March 22, 4:00 pm Exploration of representations of the forest in the history of art.

  • The forest in words and music: Sunday, March 23, 3:30pm A meeting between artists and scientists to celebrate the forest through literature and music.

Participatory workshops and immersions

  • Sylvafresque workshop(Thursday March 20 at 2pm, 2:30pm, 5:30pm and 6pm): a fun way to learn about climate and forest issues.

  • Forest archaeology(Saturday, March 22 from 11am): delve into the history of forests through the remains of the past.

  • Participation in the dendromicrohabitat inventory(Saturday, March 22 at 9:30 am in the Bois de Vincennes): observe the natural habitats of forest species.

  • Following in the footsteps of animals(March 22 and 23 from 11am): learn to identify the footprints and clues left by wildlife.

  • Explorers of living things(March 22 and 23 from 11am to 6pm): immerse yourself in the world of insects and micro-organisms of the forest floor.

  • The forest, a source of edible and medicinal plants(March 22 and 23 from 11 a.m., every hour): plant tasting and recognition.

  • Wildlife in virtual reality(March 22 and 23, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.): an immersive encounter with wild animals.

Fun activities and experiments

  • Wooden construction game(Saturday, March 22 from 11am): build your own creative structures.

  • Faun'Escape(March 22 and 23 at 2pm, 3.15pm and 4.30pm): immersive escape game to save biodiversity.

  • Nature walk in the Bois de Vincennes(Sunday March 23 at 10 a.m.): discover the spring flora of Paris.

  • Wild cuisine with École Comestible(March 22 and 23 at 2:30 p.m.): prepare plant-based forest dishes.

  • Discovering French biodiversity(Saturday, March 22, 2-6pm): introduction to participatory science and recognition of local species.

An unmissable event to discover the forest in a different way, right in the heart of Paris! Free admission. Some activities require prior registration. In short,"Forêt en Scène" offers something for everyone, young and old, with free discoveries for all those wishing to explore the wonders of the forest, all in a friendly, festive atmosphere in the heart of Paris.
