Fruity and festive newsflash - Save the date for Saturday June 14, 2025, when Montmorency, in the Val-d'Oise (95) region of France, gets ready to make your taste buds sparkle and your hearts beat to the rhythm of the Fête des Cerises. After an absence of more than half a century - 50 years without celebrating THE local star, the Montmorency cherry - this legendary festival is back, tastier and livelier than ever!

Historically, cherries were picked from the blossoming orchards of Paris on the back of a donkey. In the 19th century, the city was the queen of the red fruit, and today it's reviving the tradition with a 100% village-friendly day.

From 3 p.m. to midnight, the town offers a host offree events: tastings, music, stalls, a popular dance, fashion, vintage cars... and even a donkey ride! All spread out between Place des Cerisiers, the town center, Place Levanneur and the Demirleau parking lot.

The icing on the cake (no pun intended) is that throughout the day, local merchants will also be taking part, with workshops, entertainment, concerts and gourmet creations...

Programme for the Fête des cerises 2025 in Montmorency :

PLACE DES CERISIERS

• Exhibitors' village: Cherry display, tasting and sale of Montmorency liqueur, artisanal cherry beer, accessories and jewelry, cherry ice cream, ...
• Montmorency cherry cake election: Taste and vote on original (and anonymous) proposals from Montmorency bakers and patissiers, at the Montmorency Merchants Association stand.
• Caricaturist and silhouettist _ (3-6 p.m.): Two artists sketch the portraits of local residents, who take home their own portraits.
• Face-painting stand _ (3pm-7pm ): Leisure centers offer children the chance to draw pretty pictures of the cherry.
• La Guinche _ (6.30-10 p.m.): La Guinguette à Roulettes is a modern-day concert-bal with costumes, decorations, lanterns, a dance floor and a popular party atmosphere!

IN THE HEART OF TOWN

• Tour à dos d'ânes _ (3pm-7pm): Step back in time and embark on a donkey tour of the city center.
• La Bourrée de Paris _ (4pm-6pm): Folk group with 6 couples of dancers and live musicians.
• Exhibition on the history of the Montmorency cherry festival
• Treasure hunt (3pm-7pm ) proposed by the Municipal Youth Council
