The passenger gardens have expanded and invite young and old to discover their new spaces. Come and discover or rediscover this new landscaped area. An ideal family outing, with the kids, to wander through these educational gardens and discover the plants and their secrets.

Created in 2001, the jardins passagers de la villette are ecological gardens with a cultural, educational and social vocation. They aim to raise awareness of ecological issues among young and old alike, in an eco-responsible approach.

Home to a varied flora of vegetables and wild, aromatic and ornamental plants from all five continents, the gardens comprise 17 giant planters, observation gardens, as well as a grove, a wasteland and a Mediterranean garden covering 1300 m². In 2010, they were awarded the EVE® "ecological green spaces" label, controlled by Ecocert.

For their 10th anniversary, the passenger gardens have expanded and invite families and children to discover their new spaces. The extension of the passenger gardens extends its surface area by 3,000 m² thanks to the assistance of the Champ Libre landscape agency.
It includes :

  • A wet area with a lagoon
  • A dry garden
  • A country hedge
  • An artisanal dry-stone wall
  • A natural conservatory orchard to rediscover the beauty and flavor of ancient fruit varieties.

Throughout the season, the Jardins Passagers also offer workshops for adults and children. Among the many workshops on offer are

  • Organic gardening courses
  • Culinary workshops for cooking with earth and herbs
  • Beekeeping workshops
  • Workshops to learn more about plants and their secrets...

So don't hesitate to come and discover with your family the living world in the heart of the city, in the passenger gardens of the Parc de la Villette.
