Treat yourself to a trip to Sicilia by climbing up the rue Lepic (Paris 18th arrondissement) with Tentazioni! This Italian restaurant does without the classic pizzas to cook only authentic Sicilian recipes, yummy!

Coming from a family story, Tentazioni is the work of two Sicilian brothers, Daniele and Francesco. Wishing to bring the native flavors and traditions to their adoptive city, Paris, the two siblings created Tentazioni in 2010, a small eatery where one’s share boards and antipasti with a corner for take-away.

Then, with the help of the success, they open a second address and even a third… and in a few months, a fourth one! We went to test the restaurant set in rue Lepic, a mass of Italy, from the décor to the plate!

Sicily obliges, we find may fishes on the menu (tuna, squid, sardine, swordfish, etc.). And we let ourselves be tempted by the fresh squid carpaccio (€15.8) and the “Sarde a beccaficu”, delicious roasted sardines served with very sweet oranges (€12.5). Then, following Francesco’s good pieces of advice, we keep on with linguine and clams from Brittany and tomatoes from Sicily (€16.8), as well as the veal involtini stuffed with Caciocavallo (an Italian cheese) and ham (€18.5). To finish it, we taste the homemade ice creams prepared on the spot by Francesco himself (€8.9 the cup: what a delight!

Beyond the fact we eat well, we love that Tentazioni stands out from Paris typical Italian restaurants that don’t serve anything much by pizzas and pesto pasta. Here no four-cheese pizza but authentic recipes that change from what we’re used to see. The menu changes too, every season and every week, there is a starter, main course and dessert of the day.

Perhaps we could reproach the long service, in other words, move on if you’re in a hurry! But after all, maybe it’s an invitation for us to take time…
