DEFINITELY CLOSED - Légumes des Jours is a neighborhood restaurant in the capital's 20th arrondissement, where you can enjoy generous vegetarian and vegan cuisine inspired by both French and international cuisine. The bonus? This address is part of an eco-responsible and locavore approach.

Looking for a neighborhood nugget with comfort food that puts vegetables in the spotlight? We've unearthed the gourmet address that proves vegetarian and/or vegan cuisine rhymes with generosity! To discover this gourmet spot, head to the 20th arrondissement, near Alexandre Dumas. Beneath a sunny yellow awning, a wooded façade reveals a warm, bistro-style setting in a former ironworks, l'Atelier Gidwin. You've arrived at Légumes des Jours.

Here, you'll enjoy vegetarian cuisine, but not only: Légumes des Jours is also a committed address! Its eco-responsible approach promises recipes concocted from fresh, seasonal, organic or agroecological produce, most of it sourced directly from small producers in the Paris region. The drinks menu is no exception: natural wines, local beers, organic juices, homemade sugar-free beverages, Légumes des Jours shows you just how tasty nature can be.

Drawing inspiration from both French and world cuisine, this vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurant serves up comforting dishes for lunch and dinner. At lunchtime, enjoy a starter + main course at €15.5 (€18.5 for the full menu), with a limited menu featuring generous, traditional recipes. To kick off the meal, we opted for the roasted beet salad with an oriental twist provided by the combo of cumin, preserved lemon, tahini sauce (made from sesame paste) and sesame oil, as well as the duo of spinach and onion samoussas. Two vegan and even gluten-free starters.

The tasting continues with a slice of leek and cheese tart accompanied by a green salad, and a vegetable colombo, also vegan and gluten-free, topped with carrots, broccoli, turnips and quinoa. You'll no doubt notice during your meal that, while the recipes enhance the natural flavors of the food, they are also particularly rich in taste. This is proof of the restaurant's commitment to sustainable development, as it carefully selects its suppliers, including Veni Verdi, an urban farm in the 20th arrondissement.

Right through to dessert, Légumes des Jours proves just how good nature can be! The chocolate ganache with its vegan cookie reveals powerful, cocoa-scented notes with very little sugar, to the delight of chocovore purists. If you prefer something sweeter, then the rice pudding will take you back to childhood, with its ultra-regressive Tahaa vanilla and salted butter caramel, but without overpowering the rest.

For oenophiles, Légumes des Jours is also the promise of great discoveries. For lunch or dinner, you can accompany these gourmet plates with a natural wine from a selection created with love and passion. From Domaine des Helianthemes to Domaine de la Tour Boisée and Domaine des Jonnerys, your favorite wine is just a glass away: don't hesitate to ask for advice!

In the evening, the atmosphere changes: Légumes des Jours becomes a dining cellar. The menu unveils a more inventive and daring cuisine. For example, start your meal with a velouté of squash and grilled peas, or a burnt leek with seaweed tartar, before savouring a ballotin of green cabbage with ragù, accompanied by a compote of cabbage, pan-fried mushrooms and cream of squash. We also love the concept of the mixed plate, with an assortment of tapas depending on the day's arrival and inspiration (18€).

As you can see, Légumes des Jours is the perfect place to dispel clichés about vegetarian cuisine, while enjoying a good time with friends or loved ones in a charming setting typical of a good neighborhood restaurant.
