At an evening event held at the Georges V hotel, Gilles Pudlowski revealed his new Pudlo’s 2017 Gourmet Guide. For the guide’s 27th edition, the food critic combs Paris and its suburbs to list over 2,500 addresses. Novelties, best values for money, best foreign cuisine restaurants, the guide is well stocked.
In addition to whispering us the best addresses, Gilles Pudlowski gives gastronomy’s bigwigs pride of place. Thus, Yann Couvreur is named best pastry chef of the year, Anis Bouabsa, Thierry Marx and Joël Defives and their establishment, Au Duc de la Chapelle and Thierry Marx, la boulangerie are respectively crowned with the title of Baker of the year. The Cook of the year is David Toutain. The most unusual price, honey seeker of the year, goes to Alexandre Stern!
Through this guide, Gilles Pudlowski celebrates the French capital in all its diversity. As he writes in the introduction: “Do not listen to those saying, ‘Paris is no longer Paris’ […] Paris has never been so rich, beautiful, or gourmet than today”. Pudlowski is paying a wonderful tribute to the city of lights and calls to enjoy what it has to offer us.
