Marc Veyrat opens his very first restaurant in Paris! It’s within Palais des Congrès that opens Rural by Marc Veyrat, a great restaurant that takes us straight to Savoy. Think natural, authentic, friendly and hearty, here’s what to expect!

Is it really necessary to introduce Marc Veyrat? Awarded twice three Michelin stars and twice 20/20 at Gault et Millau, the famous Savoyard chef is a true reference. This Tuesday April 25, he opened Le Rural, his first restaurant in Paris. An inauguration with great pomp that allows us to discover the place and a whole range if dishes now available à la carte.

In partnership with Benjamin Patou from Moma Group (Bus Palladium, Victoria 1836…), the French chef opens his restaurant within Palais des Congrès in Paris 17th arrondissement. A restaurant that sweetly smells nature and Savoyard products.

We discover a décor halfway through loft and chalet. Wood is given pride of place and despite the large surface, the place conveys a very warm vibe. Wooden chairs, patchwork armchairs, sheepskin, everything is here to feel like you’re in Savoy.

Farm breakfast, sweet breaks from yesteryears, dish of the day, dinnertime casserole, cool and contemporary inn, authentic aperitif, here’s what to expect.

As a starter, you can go for the old-fashioned terrines, the seasonal soup or the cabbage salad with wild scallion.

Moving on to main course, feel for the salmon and leeks with walnut wine, the veal stew with almond milk, the quenelles of pike from Make de la Mémé Caravi with verban juice for the free-range chicken and its Savoyard Matafan. At dinnertime, we treat ourselves to the tartiflette Marc Veyrat’s way or the egg casserole with wood sorrel.

Also, on the menu, boards to share with cheeses from his cousins and cold cuts from Tarn.

In terms of desserts, you can stuff your faces since it’s a buffet of desserts that is available. Semolina zabaglione, Gâteau de Savoie, praline tart, apple pie and other sweet treats await.

In the morning, we stop by to enjoy the brioche, the farmhouse bread with butter and organic jams, an organic juice and a hot drink.

In short, here’s a lovely program to taste as soon as possible. Sometimes, we can’t really say what are the flavors of the dish because, with the wild herbs, the pine bark infusions, you will be surprised but one thing is sure, it’s delicious. So, you can go with your eyes closed.
