Cherry, the Italian-American restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

The Italian-American marriage is very much in vogue in Paris at the moment, and Cherry, the new restaurant that has just opened in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, is proof of this.

Already at the helm of a host of beach clubs and restaurants in Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle, Courchevel and Megève, the Indie Group is preparing to open a new address, this time far from sandy beaches, in the heart of Paris, on Rue du Sabot in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Named Cherry, this new German-Pratin restaurant is intended to be intimate, evoking the hushed clubs of New York while remaining rooted in today's Paris. This Italian-American ambition is reflected in both the food and the decor, the work of interior designer Sarita Posada, in tandem with Lana Sawiris.

Like the jazz bars of Brooklyn, the atmosphere is subdued, with comfortable banquettes seating 70 guests, vintage decor and a carefully crafted soundtrack, with jazz at the start of the evening and diners warming up to hip-hop tunes.

On the plates, the Italian-American marriage takes place through the great classics of the genre revisited by chef Oscar Aviles Santana and through comfort-food dishes: NYC version of Caesar salad, vodka pasta, homemade meatballs, kale salad or cacio e pepe.

And in the glasses, the inspiration remains the same, with a menu of classic cocktails ranging from Dirty Martini to Negroni to Old Fashioned. A place to discover very soon!
