The Michelin Guide 2026 has announced its Passion Dessert award, honoring 10 pastry chefs this Monday, March 16, 2026. Among them are four talented pastry chefs from Paris and the Île-de-France region! Launched in 2019, this accolade recognizes the finest pastry artists working in restaurants and luxury hotels—honoring their creations that are as unforgettable as the main courses and appetizers.

While the Michelin Guide has been praising chefs and head cooks for decades, it wasn’t until 2019 that the renowned Red Guide finally started to highlight sommeliers, pastry chefs, and maître d’hôtels—those who, just like executive chefs, contribute daily with equal dedication and skill.

For the eighth year in a row, several pastry chefs from top restaurants and luxury hotels have been honored with the Passion Dessert Award 2026. The selection process considers not only taste but also the provider’s production standards, the dessert’s health impact on consumers, as well as adherence to seasonal ingredients and environmental sustainability.

Last year, ten pastry chefs received recognition from the Michelin Guide, including two from Paris: Manon Gouin of the starred Mallory Gabsi and Jorice Sardain of Fana.

By 2026, the Michelin Guide will recognize 10 female and male pastry chefs for their inventive creations and commitments, including four from Paris and the Île-de-France region: Tessa Ponzo from Irwin (Paris 8), Coline Doussin of Bellefeuille (Paris 16), David Boudinet from Maison Rostang (Paris 17), and Baptiste Vial at Les Étangs de Corot (Ville-d'Avray, 92).
