MUN is the name of a Parisian rooftop restaurant that's sure to please. Located on the avenue des Champs-Élysées, this Japanese-style restaurant, designed by Paris Society, awaits you for a gourmet moment with a beautiful view.

A beautiful view over the rooftops of Paris, the Champs-Elysées, theArc de Triomphe and even the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Coeur, that's what awaits us at MUN, the latest addition to Paris Society. This restaurant, located at 52 avenue des Champs-Elysées, just above Galeries Lafayette, joins the ranks of Parisian rooftops that are already delighting us with their views.

Paris Society, doesn't that ring a bell? Well, it's the group headed by Laurent de Gourcuff, behind other well-known Parisian spots such as Girafe, Monsieur Bleu, Apicius, Perruche... to name but a few.

The decor for this Asian-inspired restaurant was created by the duo Eve Von Romberg and Charlotte Besson-Oberlin. A chic, refined ambience, with velvet armchairs in floral fabrics, warm carpets, subdued lighting and alcoves, transports us to the land of the rising sun.

In the kitchen, chefs Julien Chicoisne and Roland Puse are joined by Aurélien Fleury for cocktails. The emphasis is on Japanese inspiration, but not exclusively. Here's a little discovery revisited in their own way. On the menu is a sushi-bar that promises sashimi, california rolls and tataki, but also gyozas, hamachi carpaccios with avocado and dashi miso, charcoal yakitori and even shabu-shabu.

OUR OPINION: the MUN is a visual shock, and certainly the most breathtaking view of Paris today. Its location at 52 Champs-Élysées offers a spectacular panorama of the capital, from the Grand Palais to the Arc de Triomphe, including the Eiffel Tower (visible from almost anywhere). As a bonus, there's a superb planted bar, offering a chic green cocoon that's rare in Paris. Last but not least, while the menus seem simply decent despite the high prices, the cocktails stand out for their rare mastery. Without a doubt, a masterstroke by the famous creator of the place, Laurent de Gourcuff, for the most sought-after table of this autumn. A word of advice: when the weather's fine, take advantage of the outdoor terrace.

Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, please drink responsibly.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
