Okay, let's forget about dieting: East Mamma launches its Sunday’s brunch!
The family trattoria Big Mamma offers a new menu to brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On the menu: brunch classics (pancakes, benedict eggs, revisited avocado toast) as well as more original recipes like this mushroom polenta or the roast in a fire pit, Sunday roast way. And for those who’re not into Sunday’s brunch, no problem, the irresistible pasta and pizza are also on the menu.
We go for two plates of pancakes (€9) (the fluffy pancakes with blueberries, raspberries, caramelized bananas and whipped cream and those with very soft apple, crispy streusel and homemade Chantilly cream), a browned polenta with mascarpone, mushrooms and wine sauce (€13), as well as a benedict egg (€11) served on a hearty slice of brioche and young spinach and Serrano ham.
After waiting for a rather long time, our plates are finally coming: tantalizing, hearty, with a mouth-watering smell, we attack without further ado! Nothing less can be expected of East Mamma but it’s still good to remind it: it’s delicious! Quality and quantity are not left out, as a waiter says and he’s definitely right!
Maybe too hearty, we struggle to end it all and we regret we couldn’t have smaller portions to order many plates to share. In other words, fans of classic brunch with viennoiseries and a thousand things to eat won’t find their niche. And yet, it’s delicious and very affordable!
Finally, please note the warm welcome of East Mamma. As Mike – the restaurant manager – says, the goal is that all clients leave their stress outside to spend a friendly moment, no matter if you approve this brunch format or not, it’s a success!
