Sarra: the new buckwheat-crazy restaurant!

Open since mid-October, Sarra is a little restaurant that celebrates buckwheat! But don't be fooled into thinking you're eating a whole-wheat pancake here, as Sarra serves up delicious, healthy dishes.

When we heard that a restaurant dedicated to buckwheat would be opening, our curiosity was piqued. So we went straight to Sarra !
A stone's throw from the pretty rue Montorgueuil, in the 2nd arrondissement, Sarra looks like something straight out of an Instagram account. Raw wood table, little green plants, string lights and, above all... ultra-photogenic dishes.

But at Sarra, we don't just create beautiful dishes, we also make good ones, and even very good ones! No traditional Breton galette, as one might have imagined, but buckwheat cuisine (gluten-free, that is) using IGP buckwheat flour and organic buckwheat seeds, direct from Brittany. Hubert, the restaurant's founder, insists on the quality and provenance of his buckwheat, and is clearly proud of his Breton roots! In fact, he's working with the Blé noir tradition Bretagne association to promote this cereal so dear to the hearts of galette eaters.

But now to the table. We opt for the soup of the day (carrot, squash and onion, 5€), the small Breizh Orient salad with homemade hummus, seeds, goat's cheese, pomegranate and salad shoots (6€) and avocado toast with salmon to share (11€). Offering a fine balance of ingredients, the dishes are tasty. The salad's quinoa/buckwheat mix blends perfectly with the baby lettuce and mint shoots, the pomegranate seeds add a welcome touch of acidity, while the balsamic perfectly complements the salmon. Last but not least, we opt for the crumble for dessert, a totally unstructured presentation that produces surprising results! In short, Sarra 's attention to detail is second to none!

For lunch, the restaurant offers formulas at 12€ and 15.5€, while in the evening, from 6pm to 10pm, cocktails, draught cider and sharing plates are on offer! On Saturdays, in anticipation of a Sunday opening, a full brunch menu is offered at €24.

So here's a little touch of Brittany in an ultra bobo setting, everything we love.
