Perched at the Belleville park lookout, Moncœur Belleville undoubtedly boasts one of the most stunning terraces in Paris. With a fresh team, revamped decor, and homemade cuisine, this iconic spot in the 20th arrondissement is turning a new page — all while preserving its breathtaking views of the rooftops and the Eiffel Tower.

Perched atop the Belleville Park, Moncœur Belleville stands out as the must-visit café-bar-restaurant in the neighborhood, boasting an amazing view that makes climbing the steep steps to this green oasis in the 20th arrondissement well worth the effort. Recently taken over by the Bonal family, the venue offers simple, homemade dishes, from breakfasts to Sunday brunches.

The terrace, spacious and bathed in sunshine, offers a sweeping view over the rooftops of Paris, stretching all the way to the distant Eiffel Tower. This village-like square, with minimal traffic, grants Moncœur Belleville a rare sense of tranquility. As the weather warms and the season settles in, an additional 60 temporary seats will be added to this coveted space, making it even more cherished by residents of Belleville.

A landmark address in the heights of Paris, this former butcher’s shop has been transformed into a brasserie that’s once again evolving with the arrival of Valérie Bonal in the dining room and Régis Bonal in the kitchen. Together, they bring a fresh vitality to the place, all while maintaining its warm, friendly atmosphere, simplicity, and welcoming spirit.

The transformation, masterminded by Sowen Agency, has beautifully preserved the soul of the space while giving it a contemporary edge. Inside, the spacious, bright main room blends exposed brick walls, original beams, and carefully curated vintage furniture. The long marble and solid wood bar retains its classic charm with a refined touch. Outside, the iconic Klein blue façade remains untouched, just as it has always been.

Change is also evident on the plate. The menu now offers a simple yet completely homemade cuisine. From breakfast with freshly baked pastries and coffee in the sun to dinner featuring cheese and charcuterie boards paired with House wines, this spot caters to every moment of the day.

For lunch, the focus is on well-crafted salads, croque-monsieur sandwiches, and burgers priced at €16.90. The daily specials change regularly, offering fresh, elevated dishes—just as their name suggests—that change every day. The place offers an especially attractive deal in terms of quality, price, and views of Paris. The kids’ menu is available for €10.90, and the weekend brunch varies from €19 to €28 depending on the chosen option.

Among the timeless favorites that stay popular through the seasons are the classic croque-monsieur or madame, burrata with pesto (€9), Caesar salad, avocado toast, and beef tartare. For those with a sweet tooth, homemade desserts such as flan pâtissier, a perfectly crafted cheesecake, or a zesty lemon tart with meringue will satisfy any craving.

However, the menu also sidesteps the trap of predictability with its three daily specials – when we visited, standout veal sweetbreads in a rich port wine sauce (a family recipe; €17.90), reminiscent of a classic blanquette.

Open all day long, Moncœur Belleville invites guests to linger, whether it's prolonging a coffee or sharing a bottle as the sun sets. Boasting a spectacular view of Paris, this terrace ticks all the boxes for a perfect summer experience!
