Have you heard of castella? This small pastry from Portugal is finally coming to Paris at Fu Castella. We bet you’ll love this fine and soft cake! To adapt to the situation, Fu Castella opens its terrace starting Tuesday June 2, let's go and enjoy a sweet treat.
Fu Castella adapts and opens its terrace from June 2. Please note the place will open from Monday to Friday, noon to 7 p.m. and in the weekend from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The place is closed on Wednesdays.

Nestled in the loud Boulevard de l’Hôpital in Paris 13th arrondissement hides a new Japanese pastry store with a yellow façade that will make you travel through clouds. Literally.

Fu Castella pastry store specialty is castella. You don’t know what it is? We explain you everything: castella is another version of the Japanese sponge cake coming from a Portuguese cake called pão de Castela.

Introduced and popularized in Japan and Taiwan, castella is finally coming to France and you’ll love it. Because castella is a cake as light and soft as a cloud. The recipe is top secret but what’s sure is that at Fu Castella, they’re made with French organic flours, fruits and products from short circuit.

At Fu Castella, several castella recipes are on the menu, available in large or mini format!

Savory castella:

To be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or of one of the many teas of the store, a homemade iced tea, an aloe vera juice or a boba made on the spot!

By the way, we highly recommend you trying the teatime for two option, set every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to taste as many flavors as possible! For €16, you can pick up two drinks of your choice, 5 mini castella and toppings to enhance your castella: fruits, whipped cream, walnut, custard, caramel sauce, passion fruit cream… Yum!
