Pâtisserie Saison is a Chinese patisserie set in Paris 13th arrondissement. A genuine family-owned instituted that was created back in 1983. It has been one of the first Chinese pastry stores to settle in at that time in the neighborhood as it was not yet Paris’ Chinese district.
Tanoy took over this family-owned business 8 years ago and tries to give it a new breath of life with the creation of a banh bao bar, by providing banh mi with many original skewers and creating pastries with innovative flavors. Not easy for a chef who has 30 years of career down the belt and who perpetuates tradition by jealously keeping recipes, but nothing is impossible.
In the shop window, all the skewers are displayed and filled bit by bit so that you can make your choice. From lemongrass beef to cheese skewer, or vegetarian or tofu fritter skewer, there is something for everyone.
Continuing with the savory offer, you can enjoy banh bao, meat rolls and even ham or sausage buns.
Moving on to pastry, you will find the famous cream cake filled with mango or durian for connoisseurs. You can also discover coconut pearls or the famous Banh bo nuong, a Vietnamese cake based on coconut, tapioca flour and pandan, so good. You will love the rolls stuffed with cream; they are so smooth. There is a version based on durian, and another one based on matcha-adzuki beans, but the choice is all yours.
In other words, to (re)discover the Chinese-Vietnamese patisserie, to treat yourself to some tasty banh mi or mouthwatering banh bao, this is a lovely spot as accessible as delicious you can discover.
