A small bakery with major commitments, this is how Sucré Coeur could be described, an indulging location waiting for us at the foot of Montmartre, in the Saint-Georges area in Paris. In rue Manuel, passersby stop by this terra-cotta store to gaze at the mouthwatering pastries in the window. This is where Marie Dieudonné indulges sweet-toothed foodies to creations as lovely as delicious.
Here one does not come for a Paris-Brest or a Mille-feuille but to meet with Gaspard, Paul, Marjorie, Nadine and more: the very mouthwatering and gluten-free tarts of Sucré Coeur. In this sustainable bakery, fresh produces mostly coming from organic farming are given pride of place through recipes changing with the seasons. Everything is baked on site in the laboratory set within the very charming store.
In turns, one falls in love with Nadine – a delicious fruity tart based on soft cake, shortcrust, organic white chocolate whipped ganache, fig confit, and fresh figs – with Arthur – a vegan tart based on pear-cardamom crémeux, pear jelly and poached pear – with Jean and its organic pop-corn ganache and salted butter caramel, with Gaspard and its chocolate version or with Pierre and the softness of Tahitian vanilla.
And if you do not know what to get, there is some good news: at Sucré Coeur, one can enjoy mini pastries for a lot of delight. Recipes regularly change which is the perfect excuse to go back again, and again, and again. And for a very indulging snack, go for the cinnamon brioche or the irresistible cookie. Shall we go, then?
