Calling everyone looking for a change of scenery: starting from August 23, 2021, Kimpton boutique-hotel brand opens their first address in Paris, the Kimpton St Honoré Paris in the Opéra district. A 5-star hotel featuring 149 bedrooms and suites, including a spa, a gym, an indoor swimming pool, without forgetting a restaurant and a rooftop cocktail bar.
Set in the former “Samaritaine de Luxe” store, Kimpton St Honoré enjoys wonderful Art Nouveau façades from 1917. The 5-star hotel even kept other original elements of the store such as the grand staircase, to bring a unique character to this exceptional place.
Famous indoor designer Charles Zana signs the hotel’s art direction which indoors are inspired by 1930’s Art Déco and where each room looks like a chic and modern Parisian flat featuring balconies, studio windows, and works of art thoroughly selected.
We already know we will love discovering this jewel hidden in the heart of Paris, whether by booking a night, sipping some cocktail at the rooftop bar or discovering the Californian recipes of the restaurant.
Speaking of food and drinks, make the most of the Montecito on the ground floor, a Californian-inspired restaurant – as a nod to the Californian background of the brand, created in the 1980s in Sain Franscico – designed by Humbert & Poyet featuring high ceiling, large counter, marquetry, and white zellige with touches of blue, marble and terrazzo, as well as an open-plan kitchen.
Speaking of the kitchen, French chef Nicolas Pastot – with the participation of the most American of Parisians Carrie Solomon – has created a menu mixing healthy and indulging recipes, always with a hearty American touch.
For instance, discover the aptly named CALI Flower, a whole roasted cauliflower, coconut milk, curry and tahini, with crispy chickpeas to share; fluffy gluten-free pancakes; jumbo shrimp tostada like in the south of the Baja peninsula; some Cobb salad; as well as a large veggie, vegan or gluten-free selection, and beautiful pieces of meat and fish to share: ribs, steak tomahawk by the cut or ceviche.
As for drinks, Montecito will serve a selection of Californian and French wines, mostly biodynamic, as well as classic and signature cocktails, along with over 30 references of Bourbons thoroughly selected. But, to have a drink at Kimpton St-Honoré, you can go a few stairs up.
As a matter of fact, the 10th floor of the hotel houses a cocktail bar called Sequoia so you can enjoy the French capital city from above and 360°. On the short list of the 300sqm rooftop, 6 cocktails, wines and champagnes, and a selection of tapas to share with friends. On Fridays and Saturdays, DJ sets will rock your evenings!
A place we are looking forward to discovering. Are you not?
