Street BKK and its grilled food entertain the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood

It’s in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood that Street BKK has inaugurated its new restaurant. Here, meats and fishes go into an impressive Josper oven and get out perfectly grilled and braised

While already entertaining the Canal Saint-Martin, Bastille and Etienne Marcel areas, a few months ago, brand Street BKK has chosen to settle in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood. Because there, gourmets are okay with eating with their fingers to enjoy beautiful meat cuts.

But in this new HQ for exotic food lovers, there’s something new, visible from the street: a big and beautiful Josper oven proudly sitting in the middle of the open-plan kitchen.

Because in this Street BKK Grill & Beer, meats enjoy a special treatment: a new grilling technique masterfully conducted by chef Jeff Claudio – a cooking technique master.

So, the day we came, we thought we could honor the menu and discover the new options that go in the oven and end up perfectly grilled and smoked.

As for grilled food, we have classics from the streets of Bangkok: Whipping Tiger beef (€17), coconut and spice-marinated chicken (€13), lemongrass-lime kaffir-lemon leaf pork sausage (€13), whole seabream (€16)… And of course, here, we’re talking thoroughly selected meats grilled with love!

We choose not to choose and go for some meat and fish, the big novelty at Street BKK. On one side, ribs with smoked BBQ street sauce (€15), a bestseller with very soft ribs (they detach from the bone very easily) and the smoked 30-spice marinade spiced up with lime!

On the other side, Saumon Tonique (€16) with a sauce that spices things up and the whole based on soy paste, cilantro, lime and rice vinegar. It goes from the salmon’s softness and freshness to the greed of those ribs we eat with our fingers before licking them!

Both dishes are served with white rice, but to fully enjoy the menu, we choose to share a crispy pork salad (€8). Careful though, portions of these dishes and salads are more than hearty; big appetites will be happy!

This very original salad is based on curry rice ball like homemade popcorn, pulled pork sausage, papaya and raw and spicy vegetables. An explosion of flavors in the mouth!

To put out the fire ravaging our mouths, we finish this one thousand-flavor meal with two Glazed ice cream scoops: one rather classic but delicious with coconut, the other more original and oh-so surprising with pandan leaf.

Once again, Street BKK offers us with this new spot a true journey to Thailand because of the flavors, the décor (go upstairs and discover the huge Nâga-shaped neon, a sacred animal half snake, half dragon!). We’ll come back!
