Tapakap is a new “regressive” restaurant in Paris: rue Damrémont, we go back to childhood and rediscover the school universe… and recess. We lunch on large tables decorated with comics, menus are written in homework note-books, and the décor is a jumble, unearthed in junk shops and antique stores!
Goldorak, Chewbacca and other pop figures rub shoulders in an easy-going atmosphere and the place spirit is found in the plate! Every dish is thought up to make you go back to childhood: between the magic wands (finger food made of duck confit for €8), dragon balls (cheese fritters for €7) and the “Home on the Range”-inspired open sandwich (chicken and the Laughing Cow cheese), without talking about the revisited mini-burgers, we don’t know where to start…
The eatery also offers lunch set menus: for €10, we can enjoy open sandwiches and a plate of the day and a dessert, and for €15, treat you to burgers or a board, with a dessert! For a pre-dinner drink, the place offers happy-hours, with drinks at very small prices from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and for regular patrons, a mini-basket contest allows you to win free drinks.
Dishes are lovely with flavors that are sometimes surprising, and they are mostly hearty, nothing better to enjoy a good family or friendly dinner. When we’ve discovered the mixt board with cold cuts and cheese for €15, we thought that the restaurant could become an ideal spot for a pre-dinner party that can extend with a match (the restaurant often offers soccer or basket evenings!).
Tapakap expects to revolutionize your lunches, so, are you up for it or not?
