Calling all thrill fans! On Saturday June 18, 2022, Paris will welcome some of the best die-hard divers in the world for the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. This world cliff diving championship comes to Paris for the first time and expects to provide the audience with a breathtaking show.
So, after La Rochelle or Saint-Raphaël, it is in the heart of the City of Lights this sporting and uncommon event is to settle for the first time. And the show is about to be incredible! According to Le Parisien, this world cliff diving championship will take place in the Eiffel Tower area.
The concept? 24 men and women from all over the world will jump off a diving platform set over 65.61 feet above the Seine (88.58feet for men, and 68.89 for women). The goal? Performing figures and extraordinary spins such as somersault, tailspin, or even tumbling. As Le Parisien daily explains, diving 65.61 feet above the ground is like jumping off from an 8-story building! The speed is such that divers reach the water at about 55.92mph of speed.
A crazy and dangerous achievement that only professionals can complete. Among these incredible athletes will be Gary Hunt who will dive at home for the first time! If you cannot make it, the event will air live on the official website.
Paris will not be the only stop of this Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series edition 2022 as 7 more cities in the world will welcome extreme divers such as Boston, USA, Copenhagen, Denmark, Oslo, Norway and Polignano a Mare, Italy.
