Unsurprisingly, the two favorites are Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar. Two recent winners of the Tour de France, the athletes are motivated and should set the roads of France alight with their rivalry. While Vingegaard is currently the world's best climber, Pogacar is undoubtedly out for revenge this year, despite a fractured wrist during the season which calls into question his ability to be at 100% in early July.
Several other riders have also made their mark in recent international races, so there are bound to be a few surprises in store.Team Movistar's Enric Mas is favourite for 3rd place this year, while Mikel Landa also has a chance, having been very strong in the Tour of the Basque Country.Watch out for Richard Carapaz, who is often offensive in major competitions, while on the French side, we can count on David Gaudu, 4th in last year's Tour and a very good rider in Paris-Nice 2023.
