Bastille Day parade on the Champs-Elysées

On Friday July 14, 2017, the traditional parade will start at 10 a.m. on the Champs Elysées. This historical event is the occasion to celebrate French nation and the different protective armies. This year, information will be unveiled on July 5, 2017!

Each Bastille Day, the same thing happens. The day starts early for soldiers, and for good reason! The traditional Bastille Day parade on the Champs-Elysées starts at 10 a.m. sharp! This is the occasion to discover this show and to glimpse the French President. And because this year marks the 100th anniversary of the United-States’ entry into WWI, Donald Trump will be attending the event.

Bastille Day 2017 program:

  • 9:30 a.m.: inspection of the troops by flag officers commanding on foot and motorized parades,

  • 10:10 a.m.: arrival of the French President, Avenue de Friedland, inspection of the troops,

  • 10:25 a.m.: tribute paid to the President on Place de la Concorde, welcomed by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, Minister for the Armed Services, Mrs. Florence Parly, State Secretary to the Minister of the Armed Services, Mrs. Geneviève Darrieussecq and President’s Chief of Staff Bernard Rogel,

  • 10:30 a.m.: opening animation based on the following theme: “1917-2017: 100 years of technology” with eight legendary vehicles including a Schneider tank, a Saint Chamond tank, a Leclerc tank, a Renault EG15 truck, a Latil truck, a 700/100 tank transporter and a Lauer truck,

  • 10:45 a.m.: military airshow,

  • 10:55 a.m.: parade of the troops on foot
    Over 3,720 on foot troops expected,

  • 11:55 a.m.: closing animation,

  • 12 p.m.: French President’s departure
