For Epiphanie 2024, Angelo Musa, World Pastry Champion and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and Elisabeth Hot, head pastry chef at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, once again unveil a gourmet reinterpretation of the traditional galette des rois, this time combining hazelnut and mandarin.

The Galettes des Rois season is back, and we love it. Every year, two teams of gourmands clash: those for whom nothing beats the classic frangipane, and those who prefer to think outside the box. If you're one of the latter, then you're probably looking for an original galette to share with your loved ones atEpiphanie. Perhaps you're even the type of person who'd like to prolong this holiday synonymous with gourmet delights for the whole month of January! Well, here's a recipe that might just pique your curiosity.

When January comes around, Paris's finest addresses vie with each other in creativity to offer their own interpretation of the galette des rois. The capital's palaces are no exception! Among this year's exceptional galettes is one from the Plaza Athénée, created by a crack team: Meilleur Ouvrier de France Angelo Musa and pastry chef Elisabeth Hot.

For this year 2024, we present the Toute Noisette, an original creation in which we find, under a crispy feuillatage, a roasted hazelnut frangipane with comforting toasted notes, enhanced by a hazelnut liqueur that adds both character and indulgence to this revisiting of the traditional galette des rois. And that's not all: a fine hazelnut cookie gives us that satisfying chewy sensation, while a mandarin confit refreshes the whole.

Priced at 57€ for 4 to 5 guests, this creation will enable gourmets to mark the occasion ofEpiphany by surprising their loved ones with an exceptional galette featuring an original recipe. Available to order 72 hours in advance, it can be collected from January 2 to 23, 2024 inclusive, at the Galerie de l'Hôtel Plaza Athénée from 11am to 3pm and from 6pm to 11pm.
