Middle Ages fans, this tour for European Heritage Days 2020 is made for you! On September 19 and 20, visit the John the Fearless Tower aka Tour Jean Sans Peur in Paris 2nd arrondissement for a guided tour at a very small cost (€2 instead of €7 to €10). This is a lovely family outing open to children from 7 years old. Because of the health crisis, guided tours are limite to 9 people. And of course, facemasks and facecovers are mandatory.
This building built during the Hundred Years’ War is one of the last and perfectly kept tracks of the Residence of Dukes of Burgundy in Paris. Its magnificent staircase is topped by a sculpted vault exclusive in France and the five stories make an exceptional place perfect to (re)discover the Middle Ages. An experience all the more unique since the vestiges of the medieval time in Paris are quite rare.
For European Heritage Days, guided tours lasting about forty minutes are held every thirty minutes so that we can explore this uncommon place. Learn more about the story, the daily life and the architecture of the late Middle-Ages.
The tour will end with a self-guided tour of the A table au Moyen-Âge [Eating in the Middle-Ages] exhibition. But careful, to be part of it, you have to sign up by calling +33 (0)1 40 26 20 28.
