In the Vallée de Chevreuse, the castle of the Domaine de Dampierre has been majestically standing for six centuries. For European Heritage Days, discover the story and beauty of this estate and take part in entertainments making children and adults happy. Meet on September 18 and 19, 2021 to admire the surprising collection the castle houses.
Now owned by Kiloutou founder Franky Mulliez, the castle regularly offers entertainments. The estate undergoes its first major renovation for over two centuries. For the European Heritage Days, discover a monumental renovation site enabling to give the magnificent castle its glory back. By the way, the estate gives pride of place to the “compagnons” or journeymen working on this extraordinary site.
Come and learn the unique skills of these masons, carpenters, roofers, joiners, art metalworkers. Other jobs will be presented as well to tell you more about their art and realizations.
For this special weekend, guide-lecturers welcome you and make you visit the renovation site as dressed like in the 17th century: colorful and fancy costumes taking you back to the wonderful period of the estate. Bonus piece of advice: to enjoy free admission and a playful experience, come dressed as well!
In the farm courtyard, Domaine de Dampierre farrier Guillaume Noury expects you in his smithy to show you all about his skills and job. A saddle artisan also joins the team to complete your knowledge.
Several entertainments for children and adults are proposed. The Estocade company guarantees with their shows and intense fighting workshops a festive and exhilarating atmosphere. Children can make the most of this occasion to try their hands at fencing or horse-back riding in the 400-hectare park, where nature and fauna are free to live and develop as they want.
For the entire family, mule-drawn carriages enable you to discover the forest park without breaking a sweat.
