On the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine, on September 18 and 19, 2021, the CNES Space Observatory invites you to discover its exhibition Bâtir, disent-ils! a documentary exhibition on the history of space activities in French Guiana.

How about a trip into history and space for the Journées du Patrimoine 2021? That's what the CNES Space Observatory in the heart of Paris is offering you. On September 18 and 19, 2021, take advantage of this special event to freely visit the CNESexhibition. It's an unusual discovery that will delight young and old alike.

Since 2000, theObservatoire de l'Espace has been opening its doors to the public, enabling us to discover the work of the Centre National d'Études Spatiales. Throughout the year, the Observatoire de l'Espace explains the latest space discoveries through exhibitions and meetings with scientists.

For the Journées du Patrimoine, theCNES Space Observatory is presenting theexhibition Bâtir, disent-ils! a documented and illustrated look back at the history of space activities in Kourou, French Guiana. This fascinating exhibition on French space history brings together a wealth of modern and old documents, videos, photographs, artwork and other surprises, forming a poetic and scientific whole.

On display are documentaryarchives, texts by author Bernard Chambaz, visual and video works by artist Bertrand Dezoteux, and oral archives collected by French Guiana specialist David Redon. The story of Guiana's space center is told by many individuals, many unique and rich perspectives.
