Built in 1751, the Ecole Militaire covers 12 hectares and was created by Louis XV. Since then, it has seen Napoleon I (who was even a student), Queen Victoria, Napoleon III, General de Gaulle, and even Pope John Paul II. It was listed as historic monument in 1990.
The school gathers several of the most important colleges of higher military education: the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the police force, including the prestigious Ecole de Guerre (College of Warfare). It also houses the Armies’ Research and Strategy Unit.
And as it happens every year, the Ecole Militaire welcomes you for European Heritage Days and offers you to discover the most iconic places through a series of free and guided tours (registration on site).
