Lockdown exit: curfew, terraces and stores reopening, what has changed since May 19 in France

The second step of the lockdown exit started on Wednesday May 19, 2021 and is a new step towards normal life again. Reopenings, curfew, events, here is what has changed since then.

Little by little, the French are getting closer to normal life. As the coronavirus epidemic is slowing down and the vaccination campaign is improving, France follows a lockdown exit scheme in four steps including reopenings and eased restrictions. The French have entered the second step of the lockdown exit since May 19, 2021. What has changed since then?

Firt off, curfew moves to 9 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. Beyond a derogatory trip certificate will be required if you happen to be out or you will be fined. May 19th marks several reopenings as well including the reopening of non-necessary stores, terraces, cultural places such as museums, monuments, movie theaters, theaters, show venues. Past May 19, crowds can return to stadiums, hotel restaurants can reopen to guests staying over. Last but not least, gatherings over 10 people are allowed (instead of 6 before).
