No Museums Night for Paris Conciergerie in 2019

This year, Paris Conciergerie won’t take part in Museums Night… but nothing prevents you from discovering the remains of this former prison for the rest of the day.

History and Paris enthusiasts wishing to discover the Conciergerie for Museums Night 2019 will have to seek another solution. And for good reason: the cultural and historical venue won’t take part in the event this year. Whatever, nothing prevents you from discovering this high place of Paris history on May 19, 2019 since the establishment expects to tell you all its secrets.

For the record, the Conciergerie was a prison, Paris historic prison built in the 6th century. Middle-Ages, Renaissance, Revolution, the building has seen many personalities. This is even where Marie-Antoinette will end her life, Robespierre also waited for his trial there… and still today, the Conciergerie keeps tracks of his story.

The cells keep the tracks of the prisoners waiting for their trials, the confessional seems to murmur revealed secrets and the kitchen in the basement remind us of the numbers of prisoners to feed! In other words, many rooms to discover to know more about the history of France.
