Conciergerie

Prison révolutionnaire et ancien Palais de Justice situé à l'ouest de l'île de la Cité. La Conciergerie devient un des hauts lieux de détention pendant la Révolution française avec l’installation du tribunal révolutionnaire. Sa prisonnière la plus célèbre est Marie-Antoinette. Une chapelle commémorative est aménagée à l’époque de la Restauration à l’emplacement de sa cellule.

The Conciergerie of Paris, a symbolic monument of the French Revolution

The Conciergerie is a historical building in Paris, located on the Ile de la Cité. Since its construction in the 10th century, this monument was in turn the seat of the Palace of Justice and a prison. It is here moreover that Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned.
