Contes et Histoires 2023: immersive themed tours at the Conciergerie

During the Christmas vacations, the Conciergerie welcomes families as part of the Contes et Histoires 2023 event. This is your chance to take your children under your arm and discover a little piece of French history in a playful way, from December 16, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

Originally a Gothic palace, the Conciergerie became a court house, prison and tribunal during the French Revolution. The cell of its most famous prisoner, Marie-Antoinette, was converted into a memorial chapel during the Restoration. A rich and fascinating history, which the Conciergerie invites us to discover in an unusual way during this family-friendly event.

During this 2023 edition of the Contes et Histoires event, the Parisian monument is offering a range of events suitable for the whole family. The aim: to take us on a magical, dreamlike journey, while sharing with us a little piece of French history.

Here's the program for this year's events:

SPECTACLE
The Sleeping King's Dustbin
Beware: bursts of laughter in the world of princes and princesses with La Poubelle au Roi Dormant by La Petite Main.

• Dates: Thursday, January 4 and Friday, January 5, 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• Ages 5 and up
• Admission: adult - free for children

GUIDED TOUR
Let Maria Villacis tell you all about the monuments and listen to her colorful tales in front of the Sainte-Chapelle's shimmering stained-glass windows, then in the Conciergerie.

• Dates: Thursday, December 28 at 2pm and Friday, December 29 at 10.30am and 2pm
• Duration: 1h15 - from age 7
• Admission: adult - free for children

FAMILY TOUR
Discover the Secrets of the Sainte-Chapelle and Life in the Palace at the Conciergerie with your family... Just follow the guide!

Throughout the vacations, a reading room will welcome you with a selection of books for the whole family to read, under the vaults of the Conciergerie.
