It is located at 56 rue Balard, a stone's throw from the terminus station of line 8, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. French Coco is a brasserie-restaurant that focuses on colorful dishes, elaborate plates and flavors from around the world, likean ode to travel.
With its eclectic decoration that combines XXL glass chandeliers and minimalist furniture, French Coco is likely to catch your eye with its beautiful flowery façade. We like the terrace, a must for the beautiful spring and summer days, and thekids' area which takes up a whole part of the restaurant, to give the children room to play, during the meal. There are self-service games and books, a wooden kitchenette, a hopscotch... The advantage is that parents can eat right next door, so they can keep an eye on them!
On the menu? Beef tataki, exotic ceviche, beef tartar, grilled squid or cheeseburger, but also original starters, like breaded avocado, wakame seaweed salad, exotic accras... The little extra? For each of the starters, dishes or desserts that the restaurant proposes, you are told where the recipe comes from! The menu features Martinique, Mexico, Peru, Italy, India, Thailand... Not forgetting the unicorn and superhero menu for children, at 8 €! More classic, it offers the unavoidable steak/fries combo, with alternatives of nuggets, breaded fish, vegetables and basmati rice.
If you're still hungry, the menu is full of homemade desserts, faithful to our French pastry: profiteroles, lemon meringue pie, chocolate heart with vanilla ice cream, chocolate mousse, etc. Visit the restaurant for a one-way trip to gourmet destinations, directly from the Balard district, with cuisine from elsewhere and ultra colorful plates.
French Coco is above all the story of a couple, Cyril and Coralie. She is an interior decorator, he is a restaurant owner by profession. Both mixed race, they have lived a lot abroad and that's what they wanted to offer in French Coco 's menu: street food from all over the world, revisited in dishes with prices. The two of them form a team and complement each other: Coralie is in charge of the decoration, the super trendy flowery arch in the entrance, and the graphic design of the menus. Cyril is in charge of the kitchen.
This restaurant is really a reflection of their family and if there is a kids' area, it's not by chance: "We offer a space for the kids because we needed a place to occupy ours when they're here while we're both working at the restaurant," says Cyril.
Depending on the day of the week, French Coco is a bit like two rooms, two atmospheres: on Wednesdays and weekends , the restaurant is full of children and families, while during the week, it's more like professionals who work next door who go there for lunch or an afterwork. "The restaurant has different facets", explains Cyril, "the place allows families to meet, children to play together...", hence the choice to set up in the 15th arrondissement, a family-friendly area, right between the Petite Ceinture and the André Citroën park.
