Join us on a nighttime stroll through Victor Hugo’s Paris at the Arc de Triomphe, as part of the 2026 Nights of Reading, taking place from January 22 to 24.

Designed to celebrate reading in all its forms, the Nights of Reading take place annually in January across France. Led by the National Book Center, this event transforms libraries, bookstores, schools, and cultural venues into vibrant literary stages for a few days, offering a celebration of literature in all its diversity.

The goal? To turn reading into a lively, festive, and shared experience. Over the years, the program has evolved and expanded: public readings, novel marathons, discussions, literary games, artistic performances, and storytelling for children… These activities are open to everyone, often free of charge, and designed to foster interaction between audiences around the joy of reading.

From January 22 to 24, 2026, between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, the Arc de Triomphe will host a special event for the 2026 Nights of Reading: a night tour retracing Victor Hugo’s steps. Please note that registration is mandatory, with this important detail: "Limited seats available. Note that to reserve a ticket online, the purchase of at least one individual fare is required to access free entries."
