Initiated by the Ministry of Culture, the Nights of Reading aim to rekindle the love of reading among the French, regardless of age, by offering events that are often free and tailored to all types of readers. For its 10th edition, the theme of cities and countryside encourages everyone to come together and put books at the heart of our lives for a few days, from January 21 to 25, 2026.

Celebrated across France, the Nights of Reading bring a literary celebration to Paris and Île-de-France with five special evenings dedicated to books and authors. These events take place in bookstores, libraries, schools, museums, and cultural and artistic venues.
