The Official Trailer for The Sims 4: Heritage and Royalty:

Overview of The Sims 4: Legacy and Royalty Expansion

« Experience historic moments by dueling with swords or kissing frogs as you climb the ranks of nobility. Whether you're a noble or not, you have the chance to establish a dynasty. Reap the benefits of your prestige while keeping the realm united, or succumb to conflicts and scandals. Wield power—but beware, you might just lose it all, along with your grace. »

This trailer hints at many intriguing elements and fuels a blend of hopes and questions about this upcoming expansion, which appears to be a major release. It features familiar fairytale motifs from our childhood—such as a magic mirror and a kiss transforming a frog—yet also incorporates more contemporary references: notably, the Bridgerton Chronicle, when we see noble characters hiding their secrets...

This pack is expected to feature a world inspired by various countries and cultures across Africa. It showcases square-shaped buildings open to central courtyards, palm trees, wall tapestries, and distant mountain ranges. In the Sims themselves, you'll find a variety of new hairstyles, especially for textured hair. However, there are also decorative elements that evoke European royalty, such as statues, picture frames, and other regal touches.

The gameplay in this pack revolves around royalty and the hunt for the throne. It appears that family trees will take on a new significance, possibly introducing a system of inheritance for the throne and power. Of course, this could be challenged in the event of a coup d'État, purely for storytelling purposes. Additionally, the trailer reveals a "prestige" system, similar to the popularity and fame mechanics found in the Hour of Glory expansion.

Another system showcased in the trailer: one centered around secrets and scandals. With the Renting expansion pack, Sims could already spy on their neighbors and uncover hidden details about them. This new scandal system is expected to take things even further.

The video reveals several new or revamped elements at a quick glance: a thief, a bar cart, full-time house staff — maybe a new career path? A frog as a pet? And what’s that about a magical mirror? Not to mention and sword fights! It’s all the dramatic action we love for our Sims to experience.

This pack is packed with promise, and we're excited to explore it thoroughly. A lengthy gameplay video is set to be released on January 22nd.

This pack is available for purchase as a unique bundle. Just like with every expansion pack, three exclusive limited-edition items come included with your purchase—available until March 15th. Additionally, this bundle features two mini-kits: one themed "Sunshine Tea" and another inspired by classic Hollywood styles.

Which of your Sims has a desire to become queen or king? Mark your calendars for the throne war this February!
