Could the next Pokémon games have leaked? Rumors suggest new concepts for Switch 2, focusing on exploration and survival across endless Pokémon islands...

The Pokémon franchise celebrated its 30th anniversary on February 27, 2026. To mark the occasion, Pokémon revealed teaser trailers for two upcoming games that mark the beginning of the 10th generation. Developed by Game Freak, these titles are set to launch in 2027 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. Here's what we know so far about these exciting new releases...

Pokémon Vents and Pokémon Vagues whisk us away to a captivating archipelago of islands: early footage reveals beaches of soft sand, swaying palm trees, and sparkling turquoise waters. It’s enough to make us want to pack our bags and move to this Pokémon world!

The trailer for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves:

Overview of Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves:

« Beautiful islands swept by the wind and gently rocked by the waves await you in the expansive open world of these new titles, exclusively developed for Nintendo Switch 2 by GAME FREAK. Here, Pokémon live in harmony with the lush surroundings of the region, having even created their own unique ecosystems. Throughout the journey, you’ll need to team up with a variety of Pokémon to overcome obstacles and face the elements head-on. »

Once again, we're stepping into the shoes of a young explorer setting off on an adventure. The trailer offers only a glimpse, but we can spot various ecosystems—from bubbling lava fields and lush jungles to vast oceans and sandy beaches. Along the way, we'll encounter wild Pokémon that we can catch, of course. Some are familiar from previous generations... and there are a few new faces too.

The trailer reveals the three starter Pokémon for Pokémon Winds and Waves: Broussatif, a Plant-type Chick Pokémon; Caloulou, a Fire-type Puppy Pokémon; and Ogéko, an Water-type Aquagecko Pokémon.

The graphics appear to be significantly more advanced than in previous titles. It seems that Game Freak and Pokémon are aiming to take the franchise in a bold new direction.

Few details have been revealed about these two upcoming titles. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to learn more about the 10th generation of Pokémon and this new chapter in the beloved video game saga. In the meantime, players can explore fresh experiences with Pokémon Pokopia.
