The tragic story of Amélia Earhart, a trailblazing aviator and feminist icon, takes center stage at La Scala Paris on February 3 and 4, 2026. Directed by Lucie Calvet, this new show by Compagnie Pérégrin blends different art forms to pay tribute to the woman who challenged the skies and societal norms—offering performances at 2:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
At the heart of the “runway-stage,” a commanding centerpiece dominates the scene: the metallic gray Lockheed Electra cockpit. It is inside this cockpit that Amelia Earhart crafted her legendary status, setting altitude records and completing two historic transatlantic crossings. More than just an aircraft, this plane becomes a symbol of absolute freedom, but also the silent witness to her mysterious disappearance over the Pacific on July 2, 1937.
The story goes beyond showcasing technical feats; it delves into the shadows of the aviator’s life. The show particularly examines her complex relationship with her husband and businessman, George Putnam. Blending multiple disciplines, it combines theatre, aerial acrobatics, and contemporary urban dance to tell a lively, free-spirited story — a one-hour journey among the clouds filled with flight and freedom.
