Created in 1875 by Tchaikovsky, Swan Lakedid not immediately meet with the hoped-for success. Julius Reisinger's first choreography was poorly received by critics. It was only a few years later, under the impetus of choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, that the ballet triumphed. It then became one of the most legendary ballets in the world.
