Singin’ in the Rain at the Lido: the cast unveiled

Singin’ in the Rain heads to the Théâtre du Lido on the Champs-Élysées, from 17 September 2026. For this new Parisian production staged by Robert Carsen, Ashley Day takes on the role of Don Lockwood, alongside Maddie Waller, Charlie Waddell and Natasha O’Brien.

The production brings together on stage 24 actors, singers and dancers, backed by 14 musicians from the Lido Theatre Orchestra under the musical direction of Alan Berry.

Ashley Day, already on stage in Paris in Funny Girl at the Théâtre Marigny, plays Don Lockwood. Maddie Waller portrays Kathy Selden, Charlie Waddell embodies Cosmo Brown and Natasha O’Brien takes on the role of Lina Lamont. Julius D’Silva, Russell Wilcox and Daniele Coombe round out the leading roles of this cast.

Robert Carsen also oversees co-design of the staging and the joint creation of the lighting. He collaborates with Luis F. Carvalho on sets and costumes, Rebecca Howell on choreography, Giuseppe Di Iorio on lighting, and Finn Ross on video. The announced setup includes 240 costumes and places a strong emphasis on dance numbers and tap dancing.

This stage adaptation of Singin’ in the Rain marks the arrival at Théâtre du Lido of a lavish production inspired by Hollywood’s golden age, led by an international cast and a live orchestra.
