Poppy, the family and toy library for 0-10 year olds in the 17th arrondissement

Just ten minutes from Parc Monceau, in the heart of the 17th arrondissement, Poppy for kids welcomes parents, children, grandparents and nannies all day long to its open-air play area, perfectly suited to kids aged 0 to 10.

Please note: Poppy is taking the summer off and will be closed for the whole month of August... see you in September (on the 5th) to discover this lovely family venue! Reservations are still open online, however, and you can request birthday quotes too.

Behind the window filled with colorful garlands, Poppy for kids is theplay area you'd certainly dream of having at home: with its three large rooms dedicated to play, it's the place where you love to come with toddlers and older children alike, to spend an hour or the whole afternoon in this place designed as your own home.

"The principle at Poppy is to be really free: everything is at children's height, so they can be autonomous when they come here," explains Alison, the creator of this family third-place in the 17th arrondissement. The concept is simple: you come and pay a fixed fee per child, according to the number of hours spent. During this time, the children choose absolutely everything they want to do: painting, playing with dolls/barbies/dinis in the imitation games corner, dressing up, reading in the early-learning area, playing one of the many board games on site (Poppy has over 100!)...

Each child must be accompanied by an adult: for children under 3 who don't yet go to crèche, it's a real bonus to have such a place in the neighborhood, to help them discover life with others in a gentle way. For parents, nannies and carers, there's a relaxation area with a sofa (at their own height), so they can keep an eye on the toddlers, or play with them! Alison also offers coffee and tea for a hot drink while the kids play, as well as an afternoon snack for the little ones (including madeleines, fruit juice and compote for €6.50). If you'd like to take your computer to work from home, wifi is free at Poppy' s, and if you're a regular visitor, there's a card offering reduced rates for children's admission!

Every week, on Wednesdays for the most part, Poppy offers Montessori workshops, children's pastry-making, sensory workshops, plant-based painting... With great speakers, like Rose (Les Papilles Vertes) who teaches your little ones how to make vegetable paint from vegetables! During the vacations, we also offer courses for very small groups (7 children maximum).

When you want to play one of Poppy 's board games at home, you can also borrow it to try it out as a family, like a real local toy library (€2.50 per game lent for 15 days). In fact, that's the idea behind Poppy: to make this space a resource for isolated parents (or not) who need to see other people, but also to be an indispensable spot for Parisian families, who often don't have a playroom at home. "We offer children a space where they can play freely: it's a kind of indoor square, the second home of families looking for an address that suits everyone without having to cross the whole of Paris," says Alison, who has lived in the neighborhood for over eight years with her family.

Poppy doesn't leave expectant and new mothers out in the cold, with pre- and postnatal yoga classes (with or without baby, the choice is yours) given several times a week using the Gasquet method, validated by doctors and recommended from the very first days of postpartum. Before each vacation period, you can even try yoga as a family, with a special session followed by a snack and a creative activity for the little ones!
