Monument Jeu d'Enfant 2026: Learn the art of decoration at the Château de Rambouillet

The Château de Rambouillet is taking part in the 2026 edition of the Monument Jeu d'Enfant event by organizing, on 17 and 18 October, interactive workshops and family-friendly tours.

Do you know the Château de Rambouillet and its sheepfold? Discover this former royal and imperial residence, surrounded by its lush forest. The monument opens its doors free of charge to the curious, who wish to explore this magnificent medieval fortress, which has survived the centuries by transforming itself according to the fashions and needs of the sovereigns of France. This remarkable castle welcomes us for a weekend of activities, as part of Monument Jeu d'Enfant.

This October 2026, we’re once again enjoying Monument Jeu d'Enfant, the major cultural event for kids. This national event, organized by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, opens the doors to numerous monuments across France, letting children and their parents visit them for free. Plus, it features workshops and fun and educational activities for the whole family!

The president needs you: focus on Rambouillet Castle!
France, 1950: President Vincent Auriol and his wife Michèle move into the Rambouillet estate and want to bring this historic residence up to date. The project is colossal. To meet this challenge, fresh talent is sought to imagine a modern, elegant, and welcoming decor. Alongside Colette Beaubois, a young decorating prodigy, dive into the fascinating world of 1950s decorators. Room by room, discover the styles, colors, materials, and trends that will gradually transform the château into a warm, decidedly modern home worthy of hosting its prestigious guests!
Then, it’s your turn to play! Head to the workshop to choose materials, shapes, colors, and inspirations and, in turn, imagine a new style for the château. Can you convince the presidential couple? A playful, interactive workshop for families to learn more about the decorative arts.
